Brownstein has an opening for a Legal Administrative Assistant in our Santa Barbara office. We seek a candidate with general administrative experience from a professional services environment. This role will handle a variety of responsibilities each day supporting the office at large in general administrative assistance, as well as the legal practice assistants and professionals in our Corporate department. We work on cross-category deals both big and small—which is why everyone from owners and entrepreneurs to private equity funds to public and private corporations turn to us for guidance on their most pressing business issues.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize physical files for scanning to digital format
  • Update departmental file lists and Outlook contacts as client matters are created
  • Work with our Records department to manage, track and maintain legal files
  • Assist team’s legal practice assistants in entering new client information
  • Serve as general office notary for client signings
  • Provide back-up coverage to office receptionist for breaks, days off, etc
  • Schedule meetings, including Zoom conferences and presentations.
  • Coordinate with in-house support staff for meetings, events, deliveries, court drop-offs

The successful candidate will possess a professional and flexible demeanor to work with a variety of individuals while assisting in an evolving mix of responsibilities. We seek a highly motivated self-starter, who possesses strong communication and organizational skills. We require a high degree of proficiency within Microsoft Office and a comfort level to pick up new software. Current CA notary certification is not required for consideration, but candidate must be able to obtain this certification within 120 days of hire (at company expense). Prior experience in a law office setting is preferred, but not required.

Brownstein offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off, in addition this role pays overtime for hours worked above 40 per week. We are offering a range of salary for this role from $45,000-$53,000.
