Research Lab Coordinator

Description:

The Cottage Health Research Institute (CHRI) is seeking a Research Lab Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for all lab components of funded and non-funded clinical trials. Working closely with the primary coordinator of each study and lab personnel, you will ensure all laboratory specimens are collected, processed, stored and shipped according to protocol. In addition, you will oversee study management of 1-2 interventional studies and work closely with a variety of hospital and study personnel, as well as study participants and their families. Duties include:

  • Creating laboratory workflows/SOPs/checklists
  • Acting as a liaison between the investigators, the review board, other hospital departments and study participants
  • Assisting physicians in identifying eligible patients and with the informed consent process
  • Coordinating all research activities for study participants

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical or healthcare related field, or unrelated degree with relevant research experience required
  • One year of research experience in a medical or academic laboratory setting required; one year of hospital laboratory experience preferred
  • Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), Certified Research Coordinator (CRC), Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or IATA Certified preferred
  • Experience processing human specimens in a laboratory setting and familiarity with HIPAA regulations and regulations governing human subjects in research required
  • Excellent communication, writing skills and MS Office skills required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Institutional Review Board process, working knowledge of scientific and medical concepts and terminology, and strong familiarity with biomedical research protocols preferred
