Spiritual Counselor

Central Coast Home Health and Hospice is a locally owned organization with an excellent reputation throughout the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. We are constantly growing and now seeking a full or part time Spiritual Counselor to join our team in theSanta Barbara area. NOT REMOTE

Responsible for the provision of spiritual care services to patients and families/caregivers of Central Coast Hospice, either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors. This job will work underneath the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and retain new volunteers in the Santa Barbara area.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, Mdiv or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
• Minimum one (1) year professional work experience in spiritual counseling, ministry or other relevant experience
• Current and maintenance of valid Driver's License
• Maintain clean driving record and auto insurance coverage
• Reliable vehicle to drive during work hours

Knowledge/Abilities:

• Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary team/group.
• Comfortable in an interfaith setting.
• Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
• Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.
• Hospice experience preferred.
