Warehouse WorkerTemporary Hourly On CallHourly Rate: $24.28 to $26.52 per hour (depending on experience)Purpose of Position: To perform general warehouse work and make deliveries of supplies, materials and equipment in support of the District's educational and nutritional objectives.Employment Status: Full-Time (8 hours)Reports To: Food Services ManagerLocation: District WarehouseEssential Functions:Operate delivery vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts and dollies to load, unload, move, haul and transport equipment, supplies and materials.Receive, store and inventory supply items, equipment, food commodities and consumables; pull stock and fulfill orders for school cafeterias.Deliver intra-District mail, collect monies from school sites and maintain proper chain of custody.Load and unload trucks.Perform daily safety inspections of assigned vehicles.Perform light custodial duties to maintain the warehouse in a safe, orderly condition.Assist in receipt, tagging and tracking of inventory and assets.Prepare and maintain accurate logs, files and records, manual and electronic.Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.Other Functions:Perform related duties as assigned and assist other staff as required.Working Conditions & Physical Demands:Inside work with no exposure to weather conditions. Exposure to weather conditions when driving a vehicle and making deliveries. Exposure to temperatures of less than 15 degrees Fahrenheit when working in freezers. Working at heights or on ladders. Working on slick or slippery surfaces. Driving a vehicle to conduct work; driving on school grounds when students are present.Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate warehouse and office equipment; sitting for extended periods of time; standing; bending at the waist, stooping and kneeling; lifting or reaching to retrieve or store materials weighing 45 pounds or more.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of warehouse operations, practices, standards, procedures, equipment and terminology.Ability to operate a vehicle, forklift, pallet jack, hand truck and other warehouse equipment.Knowledge of industry practices, procedures, techniques and terminology involved in the receipt, storage, issue, and distribution of supplies and materials.Knowledge of the proper loading and unloading of trucks; proper and safe driving techniques.Knowledge of record keeping, filing, electronic document filing and retrieval.Ability to operate a computer and other contemporary office equipment.Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with school site staff, District staff, and vendors.Ability to collaborate with others on assigned projects or initiatives.Ability to use appropriate telephone and e-mail etiquette.Ability to use appropriate English grammar, spelling, punctuation and business vocabulary.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.Ability to meet schedules and timelines.Education, Training and Experience:Graduation from high school and one (1) year of experience in warehousing, distribution, or materials management.
