The City of Carpinteria is seeking applications for a Part-time Crossing Guard. Hourly rate: $19.14/hour. Apply immediately! The City is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Crossing Guard to help ensure the safety of students traveling to and from school. Duties include assisting students at designated crosswalks, monitoring traffic conditions, and creating safe opportunities for children to cross the street.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday: 7:30 a.m.–8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. (Wednesdays: 12:30 p.m.–1:30 p.m.) Work hours are subject to change based on the operational needs and schedule of the school district.

Under the terms of the city's benefits plan and policies, part-time (temporary, seasonal, or extra help) employees are not eligible for benefits, other than those required by federal or state law (e.g. paid leave in accordance with Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 - AB1522 and City policy). The City does not participate in Social Security; in lieu of social security, part-time employees, not currently CalPERS members, are enrolled in the City's 457 Deferred Compensation retirement plan.
