Sport Educator
Job Description
The sport educator works within the Municipal School of Sports which includes 4 full-time and 2 part-time stages and 1 secretary. He/she is notably responsible for designing, leading, teaching and/or supervising sports activitiesin several disciplines with diverse audiences in a safe environment.
Mission 1: Design, prepare, supervise and teach sports activities
- Define the pedagogical content of sessions and the learning cycle according to the quality of the audiences supervised;
- Ensure the installation and removal of the sports equipment necessary for the activity;
- At the end of the cycle, move the equipment to equip the sites mobilized for the following cycle according to the SPAs taking place there;
- Participate in the development and implementation of pedagogical projects;
- Teach and introduce different sports disciplines to children aged 3 to 12 attending the Municipal School of Sports;
- Supervise and teach sports activities to specific audiences (very young children, children with disabilities, children from underprivileged areas, etc.);
- Lead projects in connection with these audiences, contributing to greater autonomy, physical and moral well-being and promoting social integration;
- Report, evaluate the learning and actions carried out with the different audiences;
- Participate, mobilize and coordinate the different actors around a sports project or animation;
- Develop for the different audiences, especially those of the EMS, the bridges with the sports associations of the city.
Mission 2: Monitor and secure activities
- Detect anomalies in equipment and report to management to take appropriate measures;
- Ensure the clearance of emergency exits before conducting the activity. If not, alert management;
- Perform usual maintenance operations to check equipment, condemn defective equipment, inform management of observed malfunctions;
- Apply and enforce the regulations related to SPAs;
- Alert, follow procedures, take initiatives in case of emergency and practice first aid gestures if necessary.
Mission 3: Welcome different audiences
- Adapt his/her posture and pedagogy to the audience welcomed;
- Report to management the risky or problematic behaviors in a collective;
- Identify risky behaviors, dialogue and regulate conflicts;
- If necessary, inform the EMS activity facilitators about the service developments.
Required Profile
Mandatory diploma(s) or training(s)
- Licence STAPS;
- BPJEPS Activities for All (APA) or BEES 1 in one or more specialties, BEESAPT;
- Professional card of sport educator;
- Driving license B
Knowledge:
- Know the local geographical, socio-economic and cultural context;
- Know the employment framework of SPAs;
- Know the evolution and the regulatory framework of the supervision of SPAs;
- Know the basics of conducting sessions and project management
Technical skills:
- Be able to implement educational projects and participate in the affective, physical and psychological development of the supervised audiences (children, adolescents, adults and seniors);
- Master several sports activities;
- Be able to work in project mode to carry out the activities of the service;
- Be able to teach multisport activities: team sports, racket sports, opposition sports, gymnastics, etc. at different times, in different environments, to different audiences;
- Apply the procedures put in place

Legal Basis
Art. L332-14 of the general code of the public service - A contractual employee may be recruited for this position in the waiting period for the recruitment of a civil servant. The proposed contract may not exceed one year, renewable for a total duration of 2 years.
