School Aide / Paraprofessional – $20/Hour

Amergis Staffing is seeking dedicated and compassionate School Aides/Paraprofessionals to support students in a school-based setting for the upcoming school year. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and making a positive impact in the classroom.

Position Details

• Position: School Aide / Paraprofessional

• Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

• Schedule: Monday–Friday

• Hours: Approximately 32.5 hours per week

• Start Date: August 17, 2026

Position Overview

The School Aide works under the supervision of teachers, the Special Education Department, and designated school staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students. Responsibilities may include assisting students with academic tasks, behavior management, personal care, mobility, and therapeutic needs as directed by educational and healthcare professionals.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting student success and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom instruction, organization, and daily activities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students

• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs

• Assist with the implementation of IEP accommodations and behavior plans

• Supervise students during recess, lunch, transitions, and school activities

• Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment

• Support students with personal care, physical mobility, and therapeutic needs as required

• Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience working with children in schools, childcare, tutoring, camps, or similar settings

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

• Compliance with professional standards of practice

Preferred

• Previous experience supporting students with special needs

• Current CPR certification, if required

• TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray clearance, if applicable

• Current health certificate as required by state or district regulations
