Represents TCRC in the community. Interprets and applies agency policies.SupervisionReceives direction from the Assistant Director of Services & Supports. Provides general supervision to assigned service coordination staff.Primary FunctionsAssigns, reviews, and evaluates work of a team of service coordinators.Hires, trains, directs, and evaluates service coordinators.Works independently and interdepartmentally to resolve service issues. Represents the service coordination team and/or the regional center in interagency problem resolution. Participates in planning and developing agency policies and procedures. Communicates policies and procedure information to staff. Trains staff in application and interpretation. Monitors results for conformance with agency, state and federal standards.Compiles/prepares reports on team activities.Participates in management group meetings. Represents the team and/or the agency in transactions with state and local agencies, service providers, community groups.Implements strategic performance plan at team level.Leads service coordination team in learning and using Person Centered practices.May serve as staff support for committees of the Board of Directors.Manages team within budget guidelines.Additional duties as needed.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredKnowledge of developmental disabilitiesKnowledge of Regional Center service systemsAwareness of public entitlement and benefit programsStaff leadership and supervisionCreative problem-solving abilityAbility to make verbal and written presentations to groupsOrganizational and time management skillsExcellent oral and written communicationWorks effectively with diverse groupsKnowledge of and demonstrated ability in Person Centered practicesEducation and ExperienceStrongly prefer a Master's degree in social work or related field and license or license eligibility (LCSW, MFT). A Bachelor's degree and three years of directly related experience may be substituted for the Master's degree.Minimum QualificationsMaster's or Bachelor's degree in human services field or a related area, with 2 years of applicable experience in mental health or social work and 1 year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.Valid California driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle or equivalent means of transportation.Able to travel to any location at any time; Local and in-state travel is required.Physical RequirementsThe position requires the ability to work independently and possess the mobility necessary to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. This is primarily a sedentary office classification. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, finger dexterity, and fine coordination when preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard and calculator.Additionally, the position requires near, far, and color vision to read correspondence, statistical data, and computer screens. Hearing and speech are required to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone.Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects necessary to perform job functions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds.The position also requires standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily office activities.Work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
