Tutorial Center CoordinatorSalary: $71,437.00 – $87,029.00 AnnuallyJob Type: Classified StaffLocation: Santa Barbara, CAClosing: 6/29/2026 11:59 PM PacificJob SummaryUnder the direction of the Supervisor of the Cartwright Learning Resources Center, the Tutorial Center Coordinator organizes and coordinates the operations, activities, programs, and services of the Tutorial Center. The role oversees communications, outreach, personnel, payroll, budget, and record‑keeping functions to meet the tutorial needs of departments and disciplines, including support for the expanding Gateway Program for student success, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of college‑wide tutoring services.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate operations, activities, programs, and services of the Tutorial Center; establish and maintain timelines, priorities, and systems and monitor, evaluate, and adjust services to meet departmental and student needs.Manage communications, information, outreach activities, personnel and data management, and record‑keeping functions.Coordinate cross‑curricular outreach activities to enhance student and faculty awareness of tutoring programs and services.Assist in promotion of tutoring activities through correspondence and promotional materials and support use of tutor feedback forms.Develop and maintain tutor orientation and training materials; track attendance and monitor tutor accountability and performance systems.Establish and maintain partnerships with SBCC educational departments to promote tutorial activities and recruitment.Serve as liaison between tutors, students, and faculty regarding tutoring services; respond to inquiries and provide information on policies and procedures.Prepare and maintain records, reports, and files related to tutor employment, payroll, tutee satisfaction, and activity allocation.Collaborate with HR on documentation and paperwork for hiring student and hourly tutors; maintain confidential files and coordinate payroll information.Oversee completion, accuracy, and submission of timesheets and monitor hours in relation to allocation.Monitor financial effectiveness and operational efficiency of tutorial services and assist in creation of procedures for improvement.Assist the CLRC Director with allocation of tutorial funds and review budgetary and financial data.Create and distribute the Tutorial Handbook for tutors and supervisors.Facilitate student matriculation by promoting tutoring support and working directly with at‑risk students.Coordinate with College personnel and department chairs to resolve issues affecting tutorial support initiatives.Monitor the CLRC Tutoring Lab to ensure a smooth and efficient learning environment.Operate office equipment such as copier, fax machine, and computer.Attend and conduct meetings as assigned; participate in work groups, community events, and special projects.Perform related duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceAny combination equivalent to a bachelor's degree in education, human resources, or a related field and two years of increasingly responsible experience working with tutor development, training, outreach, recruitment, or similar functions.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with tutors.Experience at a post‑secondary institution, especially a community college.Customer service experience.Experience working with a diverse population of students and interest in supporting student equity and success.Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Slides, Forms) including ability to write formulas across data sets.Data collection and analysis experience.Problem‑solving skills and ability to track complex processes.Ability to work independently.Excellent interpersonal communication skills.Ability to multitask efficiently and pay attention to details.Capability to work with multi‑generational groups and coordinate with colleagues.Professional demeanor;
