What does a Clinical Trainee do? Maintain and oversee a therapeutic milieu that promotes youth and family resilience, healthy engagement, and personal growth
Perform direct client contact duties via fact to face, telehealth, group, family, couples, crisis, and rehab session
Lead daily structured therapeutic group activities to promote positive youth development and trauma-informed care
Support data collection to ensure client records and documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and confidential
Utilize program assessments and screening tools in collaboration with each youth to inform priorities of the individual service plan and make appropriate internal and external referrals for services
Participate in clinical supervision; minimum of one weekly individual, triadic, or group supervision unit for each intern/trainee (more as needed based on hours)
Support with daily supervision of youth including meal preparation, transportation to medical appointments, scheduled outings, and uphold the daily schedule
Perform intensive case management tasks to enhance their education, vocation, relationships and communication, independent living skills, physical health, mental health, and more
Demonstrate clear and professional boundaries by regularly using discretion and seeking support from administrative and clinical supervisors as it pertains to youth, clients, or staff
Provide supervision and direction of activities for youth that supports healthy living, social responsibility, and youth leadership
Maintain a controlled and safe environment for youth, assist with daily cleaning/sanitization and organization of work space areas

Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old
Bachelors Degree required
2 years related work experience
At least one year of experience with individual/group/team mediation and conflict resolution
Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire
Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire
Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance
Maintain a valid California drivers license, active participation in the California DMV Pull Program, an acceptable driving record and approval status as determined by the Channel Islands YMCA and/or its insurance carrier
