Description:

DescriptionIn this position, you will provide administrative and patient care support to various ambulatory practices. You will assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge, process prior authorizations and complete Surgery Scheduling tasks. You will work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. You will support different teams/ practices to cover illnesses, holidays, and leaves of absence.We are looking for highly flexible, enthusiastic and proactive individuals with the ability to travel to the Central Coast UCLA Community practices throughout the greater Southern California area.Central Coast locations include: Santa Barbara, Montecito, Goleta, VenturaAs a per diem employee, you must provide your availability at least one month in advance. The minimum requirement is two shifts, totaling 16 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Days and hours may vary depending on assignments.Salary range: $33.40-$33.40 HourlyQualificationsRequired:

    Ability to travel to various UCLA Health locations Availability to work various days/shifts and occasional weekendsMust be able to provide availability at least one month in advance with 2 shifts-16 hours per week including one weekend per monthKnowledge of medical terminology
    Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage providedSkill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilitiesAbility to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgroundsSkill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situationsAbility to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of healthAbility to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environmentSkill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer programPreferred:
      Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflowsWorking knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programsKnowledge of hospital computer system, personal computer systems, and the various software products to perform administrative workFamiliarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs
