Server Position at Costa Kitchen & Bar

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Server for the Costa Kitchen & Bar at the Mar Monte Hotel in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA.

Job Purpose:

Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous food service to restaurant customers. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they've made the right choice to stay with us.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting every guest with a smile and positive attitude
• Preparing and presenting items, organizing and maintaining a clean service area, cleaning tables and area, and following all health codes.
• Ensuring that all guests are dealt with in a professional, consistent manner. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.
• Taking guests' food and drink orders and ensuring that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
• Assisting with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties
• Providing a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis.
• Maintaining and enforcing sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen and restaurant area.
• Following all applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures

Qualifications and Requirements:

High School diploma/Secondary qualification or equivalent.

Serv Safe & Alcohol Certification of California

This job requires the ability to perform the following:

• All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Company Standards
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
• Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the Company's rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel facilities. Associates who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment
