Job Description:

The Cardiology IT Lead will play a key role in Client Epic Cupid implementation and the enterprise cardiology standardization initiative. This position combines Epic Cupid expertise, third-party cardiology system integration, and analyst mentorship.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support the design of integrated cardiovascular workflows across Epic Cupid and multiple third-party cardiology systems.
  • Help standardize cardiology workflows, operational dependencies, and long-term support models across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with the Cupid and cardio IT team to ensure the Epic build supports robust, sustainable integrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve HL7/interface issues, including interface error workqueues and message analysis.
  • Mentor and coach a team of ~4 analysts (Cupid + third-party systems) on design, best practices, and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with clinical and operational leaders to translate business/clinical needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Support governance and project workgroups focused on future-state workflows and integrations.
  • Act as a key liaison with vendors, challenging constraints where appropriate, and driving toward solutions that align with the client's clinical and operational needs.

This role is hands-on and highly collaborative; it does not include direct people management responsibilities but carries significant influence through mentorship and leadership.

Skill Set Requirements:
  • Epic Cupid certification (current or recent).
  • Multiple full lifecycle Epic Cupid implementations in a cardiology context (design, build, testing, go-live support).
  • Strong experience working with third-party cardiology systems integrated with Epic.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • HL7 messaging concepts (orders, results, statuses, identifiers).
    • Interface error workqueues and message-level troubleshooting.
    • Understanding how Epic Cupid's build/configuration impacts downstream systems.
  • Proven ability to:
    • Mentor and guide other analysts (both Cupid and third-party application analysts).
    • Translate clinical/operational requirements into technical specifications.
    • Communicate effectively with clinicians, operational leaders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional project settings (IT, operations, vendors, clinical stakeholders).

  • Experience integrating or supporting several of the following:
    • Syngo Dynamics (or similar echo reporting solutions)
    • GE CCW for EP reporting
    • GE hemodynamics systems (e.g., ComboLabs, Mac-Lab)
    • MUSE or similar ECG systems
  • Experience configuring third-party cardiology systems specifically for Epic Cupid integrations (not just testing from the Epic side).
  • Prior experience in a large academic medical center or complex multi-site cardiology environment.
  • Previous role as a senior/lead analyst or architect on an enterprise cardiology IT program.

:Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Required: Epic Cupid Certification.
  • Preferred: Additional Epic certifications in related cardiology or ancillary modules (if applicable).
  • No clinical license required; clinical background in cardiology or imaging is a plus.
