Manufacturing Engineer Manager – Goleta, CA
Security clearance: U.S. citizenship required with an active Secret clearance. Position is onsite with exposure to the manufacturing environment.
What You Will Do
- Track and improve manufacturing metrics (Yields, Scrap, HPU, Cycle time and out‑of‑flow) to meet schedule, cost and quality targets. Monitoring of established processes via data collection for statistical analysis purposes as well as the use of various continuous improvement enablers.
- Analyze and modify product designs in collaboration with Design Engineering to assure manufacturability. Develop design, selection, specification and optimization of the required equipment, fixtures, tooling, gaging, processes and operations. Determine other technical matters required to achieve production volume, timetable, cost, quality level and other specifications.
- Evaluate manufacturing capability and provide technical support at the supply base.
- Lead and manage a group of Manufacturing Engineers to ensure staffing and department budgets are met.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Leadership and management experience in an engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with vacuum dewar processing equipment, methods and processes.
- Experience in a cleanroom work environment.
- Computer proficiency with ability to learn new software applications.
- Familiarity with Supply Chain Management.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or schematics.
- Experience using Six Sigma process improvement methods.
- Knowledge in Statistical Analysis (SPC).
- Strong technical problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in transition to production programs.
- Strategic and visionary planning with ability to develop relationships and achieve buy‑in from all relevant parties.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, shop‑floor control, BOMs, document control (SAP PRISM or equivalent).
- Ability to facilitate results through a cross‑functional team.
- Exceptional communication, writing and presentation skills.
- Team‑centered mindset to motivate organization.
- Forward‑thinking with vision for organization outlook.

Benefits and Compensation
Salary range: $145,600 – $276,800 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, holidays and other benefits.
