Maintenance Technician

Description:

An aerospace client is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our Facilities department. As a member of the Facilities department you'll get to support operations in the Deployable Operating Unit.

Location: Goleta California 93117 (Onsite)

Position: Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $31.75/hr. on W2 (DOE)

Duration: 6 months or longer

Schedule: 9x80 A

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment
  • Performs EHS inspections; examples include fire extinguisher/eye wash inspections and emergency lights
  • Perform various machine maintenance as required
  • Perform some routine cleaning functions
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and fixes
  • Respond to facilities requests from internal customers
  • Close coordination with outside vendors and suppliers, escort as required
  • Work cell set up & close down support
  • Move equipment, tables, and shop aids to/from storage & manufacturing areas
  • Design & shadowboard production toolboxes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Some problem solving, collaboration skills and verbal/written communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for employmen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Occasionally be on call during critical processes; e.g. startup of major capital projects, contact service contractors to resolve facility issues during off hours, etc
  • Experience and/or certifications in HVAC system troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
  • Experience with Maintenance Connect database system
  • Experience with 5S and/or lean manufacturing principals
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional team projects
