The Engineer plays a key role in maintaining the hotel's physical facilities and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This position supports the overall operation of the Engineering Department by performing routine maintenance, responding to guest and staff requests, and assisting with preventive maintenance programs. A strong focus on safety, efficiency, and luxury-level service is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational & Technical

Perform daily repair and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs.

Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and equipment rooms.

Respond promptly to guest room maintenance calls with professionalism and attention to detail.

Assist with repairs of kitchen equipment, laundry systems, pumps, motors, and building automation systems (as trained).

Support energy conservation initiatives by ensuring efficient operation of lighting, heating, and cooling systems.

Maintain proper tool storage, cleanliness, and organization of maintenance work areas.

Safety & Compliance

Adhere to all hotel safety policies, OSHA standards, and local building codes.

Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or structural concerns.

Participate in emergency response procedures, including fire safety, power outages, and weather-related events.

Guest & Team Interaction

Deliver friendly, timely, and discreet service while working in guest-facing areas.

Communicate professionally with all departments to resolve maintenance needs.

Assist vendors, contractors, and outside technicians as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous maintenance experience in hospitality, residential, commercial, or industrial environments preferred.

Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general repair practices.

Ability to read and understand technical instructions, safety information, and equipment manuals.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a luxury-level guest experience.

Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated areas.
