Animal Care Assistant Needed – Compassionate, Detail-Oriented (Farm Animal Rehabilitation Support)
We are seeking a kind, attentive, and reliable individual to assist with the daily care of a very special rescue farm animal who is currently in a period of rehabilitation.
She is bright, gentle, responsive and intelligent, and we are looking for someone who will treat her with compassion, patience, respect, and genuine care.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with gentle repositioning and comfort care.
• Providing food, water, and occasional treats
• Light cleaning and maintenance of her bedding area
• Observing and communicating any changes in her condition
• May include learning some rehabilitation, movement and other care for her well being.
Ideal candidate:
• Calm, patient, and comfortable around animals
• Physically able to assist with lifting/support (with guidance)
• Detail-oriented and attentive to subtle changes
• Prior experience with animals (farm, vet tech training, or caregiving) is a plus, but not required
• Fascinated by animals, enjoys finding out more, and willing to learn follow a thoughtful care routine
• Discretion and respect for privacy are essential, both for the safety of the animals and the privacy of the ranch.
Schedule:
Flexible, initially morning visits to see how she is doing. Can fit in for someone who has a full or part time job, as you can come by and have your animal joy seeing her, as early as 7:30am (or time can be arranged) and you can be at work on time. Depending on the candidate chosen, the animal caretaking schedule can be several days a week, or flexible on pre-arranged days. We can make a schedule in coordination with your regular work schedule.
