Position Overview

A rapidly growing, privately backed services organization is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead construction and field operations across multiple established business units. This senior leadership role is designed for an experienced industry operator who has progressed from hands-on field experience into project management and executive operational leadership.

The organization provides large-scale commercial construction and integrated facilities services to national and regional customers across complex mechanical and building environments. The Senior Director of Operations will play a critical role in strengthening operational alignment, enhancing customer delivery, and driving performance across multiple operating entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership across multiple operating companies delivering mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and facilities services solutions.
• Oversee project execution, field operations, safety performance, quality standards, scheduling, and overall margin performance across a diverse commercial portfolio.
• Serve as a senior operational point of contact for key national customers, ensuring consistent execution and a high-quality service experience.
• Standardize operational processes and implement best practices while maintaining the strengths and identities of individual business units.
• Develop and mentor operational leaders, project managers, and field teams, fostering accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with executive leadership on operational strategy, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
• Support organizational growth initiatives, including expansion into new markets, service offerings, and customer segments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 15-25+ years of progressive experience within commercial construction, mechanical/HVAC services, or integrated facilities services environments.
• Career progression that includes field-based experience, advancement into project management, and leadership of large-scale operations.
• Strong background supporting complex commercial environments such as retail, healthcare, restaurant, or multi-site service portfolios.
• Demonstrated success leading multi-trade operations across multiple business units or regions.
• Executive-level customer presence with experience supporting enterprise or national account relationships.
• Operationally grounded leader capable of balancing people leadership with process improvement in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience aligning or integrating operations across multiple organizations is highly desirable.
