Patient Access Coordinator, Full Time, Day Shift

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all individuals.
  • Accurately handle patient registration, arrival, and check-inprocesses.
  • Collect essential patient, demographic, and insurance information for seamless registration within the systems.
  • Gather necessary patient signatures and information upon arrival.
  • Refer complex registration cases to experienced team members.
  • Perform real-time insurance eligibility and benefits verification for unscheduled/walk-in patients when required.
  • Verify insurance benefits, clarify financial obligations to the patient or their representative, and collect outstanding patient portions at the point of service.
  • Process collections and cashiering tasks, and direct patients to Financial Counseling when necessary.
  • Ensure all hospital collection activities are compliant with departmental requirements.
  • Be available to work some holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Assume the role of preceptor/trainer for new team members.
  • Act as a mentor for new associates and aid in orientation for new employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift: 8-hour shifts at Ojai Community Memorial Hospital in Ojai, CA - Day Shift - Monday's 10:00am-6:30pm, Tuesday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with rotating holidays and weekends as needed.

What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in a medical/clinical/dental/hospital setting or customer service environment.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • One (1) year of experience in Patient Access.
  • Data Entry experience.
  • Familiarity with health plans/insurance.

The annual salary range for this position is $38,000.00 - $63,000.00. Compensation is based on factors such as skill sets, experience, training, security clearances, licensure, certifications, and other business needs.
