This position is responsible for providing support for the City's computers and users. Incumbents will determine user needs, install, maintain, operate, and configure computer hardware and software, and provide a variety of technical duties as required. Distinguishing Characteristics At the level I position: This is the entry-level class in the Information Technology Technician series. This class is distinguished from the Information Technology Technician II by the performance of more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the series, including participating in routine computer support activities, such as less complex troubleshooting and hardware installation. The Technician I will have limited network administration rights. Since this class is typically used for training, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience.
