About the Position

Pay Rate: $150 - $160/Hourly.

This position will report to the Chief Perfusionist.

Summary: A Perfusionist is responsible for operating and managing the heart-lung machine (cardiopulmonary bypass system) during cardiac surgeries. The perfusionist maintains the patient's blood circulation, oxygen levels, and vital parameters while the heart is temporarily stopped during surgical procedures. The role requires close collaboration with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the heart-lung machine (cardiopulmonary bypass) during cardiac surgery.
  • Monitor and maintain blood flow, oxygenation, temperature, and vital parameters of the patient during procedures.
  • Prepare and test perfusion equipment prior to surgery.
  • Manage blood gases, anticoagulation levels, and hemodynamic parameters during surgery.
  • Assist the cardiac surgeon and anesthesiologist during open-heart procedures.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must have 10 years of experience (will consider 5-10) and have CVOR, General OR, and Trauma Level 1 Experience.
  • Epic experience Required,
  • BLS Certification,
  • ACLS Certification,
  • PALS Certification Preferred,
  • NRP Certification Preferred,
  • Certification or registration from a recognized medical council or perfusion society.
