Job Description:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and testing on copper cable in various environments including underground, aerial, and buried settings.
• Troubleshoot issues requiring copper repair, maintenance, slicing, and faultfinding expertise.
• Expertly splice existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building locations.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialty instruments such as multi-meters and HST-3000 in both inside and outside plant facilities.
• Conduct testing and turn-up of subscriber lines to ensure optimal performance.
• Locate and resolve faults in aerial and underground cables.
• Join, repair, and rearrange cables and cable equipment within buildings and on aerial or buried plants, including residential and small business telecommunication services (POTS, Prism, Fiber, and DSL).
• Connect wires and cables to terminals and hardware, attaching and detaching as necessary.
• Carry out continuity and conformance testing to guarantee system reliability.
• Read and interpret customer service orders as well as technical drawings, maps, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Receive service orders and repair tickets from supervisors, executing specified tasks efficiently.
• Work with telecom color-coded wires and cables accurately.
• Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, whether in-person or by telephone.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals while also being able to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
