Description:

The F&B Supervisor is primarily responsible for the smooth functioning and service aspect of a full service resort and restaurant. This individual leads a team of F&B associates in delivering the highest caliber of Five Diamond service to guests. Leads by example in creating a professional atmosphere that is inviting for guests, promoting and enhancing the dining experience. Conducts new hire and continuing education training. Oversees scheduling based on business. Consistently performs serving and bussing duties. Ensures all areas remain clean, guest ready and well stocked. Handles guest issues, bringing them to a satisfactory resolution. Observes safety standards at the restaurant and performs necessary functions to promote accident prevention.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  1. Minimum two (2) years prior experience as a lead server, supervisor, or manager in an upscale establishment.
  2. Fluency in the English language.
  3. Thorough knowledge of proper service and Forbes standards
  4. Experience training Food & Beverage service staff in food and beverage and proper service etiquette.
  5. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  6. Experience with guest service in a fast paced environment.
  7. High energy, flexible and adaptable.
  8. Professional appearance and demeanor, positive attitude and excellent communication ability.
  9. Ability to provide service efficiently while conveying a warm and friendly demeanor.
  10. Track record exhibits the ability to anticipate guest needs.
  11. Ability to remember orders with accuracy.
  12. Ability to memorize menu and drink items.
  13. Experience with Food & Beverage Point-of-Sale Systems.
  14. Must have valid drivers license.
Desirable:
  1. Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
  2. Supervisory or Supervisorial training or experience.
  3. Experience in the hospitality/restaurant industry in a similar position.
  4. TIPS certification.
  5. CPR certification.
  6. Previous guest relations training.
  7. Experience with Micros POS
  8. Experience with Open Table booking engine
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide instruction, support and communication to staff as needed to ensure complete guest satisfaction and attention to detail.
  2. Ensure compliance with Five Star Forbes service standards.
  3. Exhibit a "hands on" approach to training by working alongside associates.
  4. Communicating to management any areas or room for improvement from service standpoints.
  5. Regularly perform duties such as serving food and drink, bussing.
  6. Observe daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment at the restaurant; make corrections and improvements where appropriate or recommend adjustments to the supervisor.
  7. Organize and orchestrate last minute changes and details to functions.
  8. Control usage of all food and beverage items and appropriate usage of equipment, tools and service equipment.
  9. Assist Management in aspects of the Food & Beverage operation including:
  1. Controlling costs
  2. Maintaining par and inventory levels
  3. Requisition and distribution of products
  4. Meeting expectations with regards to labor and staffing
  1. Produce schedules for restaurant staff to ensure proper coverage based on the forecast and business levels.
  2. Observe performance and proactively coach, counsel and discipline associates.
  3. Constantly monitor staff's grooming, demeanor and professionalism to ensure compliance with both OVI and Forbes Five Star Standards
  4. Handle guest complaints or concerns.
  5. Recognize and address potentially intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guests.
  6. Assist with wine service and wine cellar inventory
  7. Engage with guests and create a lively, enjoyable atmosphere while exhibiting professionalism, attentiveness and exemplary service.
  8. Clock in within 7 minutes on either side of your scheduled start time at central services.
  9. Arrive at your work area within 15 minutes of your posted schedule start time by any means necessary.
