Description
We are looking for a Highly Reliable Concrete Laborer to join our crew. This isn't just a "heavy lifting" job; it's a critical role in a fast-paced environment where precision and timing are everything. We need someone who treats every slab like it's their own driveway and understands that being "on time" means being ready to work before the first mix arrives. Please be aware that this isn't a "learn on the job" position-we need a pro who can hit the ground running and contribute to high-quality builds from day one.
Responsibilities
• Formwork & Prep: Assisting with the placement of forms, stakes, and reinforcement (rebar/mesh) to ensure a solid foundation.
• The Pour: Managing the chute, wheelbarrowing, and raking wet concrete to ensure even distribution and depth.
• Site Management: Maintaining a clean and organized site. This includes the critical task of cleaning tools and mixers immediately after use.
• Finishing Assistance: Supporting lead finishers by using bull floats, edgers, and brooms as directed to achieve the specified texture.
• Demolition & Repair: Using jackhammers or saws to remove old concrete and prepping surfaces for new pours.
Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in concrete (forming, pouring, finishing).
• Communication: Ability to follow complex verbal instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
• Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints, architectural plans, and structural plans and work with minimal supervision.
• Reliability: You have a proven track record of showing up on time, every time. You have your own reliable transportation.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift 60+ lbs consistently. You are comfortable working on your knees, bending, and reaching for extended periods. You're ready to work in the summer heat or the morning chill-whatever the pour demands.
• Gear: Must have your own basic hand and power tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
