We're hiring an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for Leonardo DRS - Land Systems, a recognized leader in designing and integrating advanced technologies for U.S. military and commercial customers. This role is based onsite in Goleta, CA and supports classified information systems under the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and Intelligence Community Risk Management Framework (RMF). You'll work closely with the Facility Security Officer (FSO), ISSMs, and corporate security teams to maintain compliance and defend against evolving threats to national security.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and administer security procedures for classified IT systems in compliance with DCSA and U.S. Government requirements
• Apply computer science best practices to maintain security of classified systems and networks
• Serve as Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO), supporting the FSO in all aspects of Industrial Security
• Act as the primary advisor to the Business Unit ISSM on local classified information systems matters
• Liaise with DCSA Information Systems Security Professionals (ISSPs)
• Implement and maintain compliance with NISP, DISA, DAAPM, RMF, and NISPOM requirements
• Review and approve access requests and System Security Plans
• Conduct self-inspections and report security posture to management
• Identify and document local threats and vulnerabilities
• Investigate security violations and ensure corrective actions
• Support DISA STIG/SCAP implementation and system hardening
• Maintain required government systems access (DISS, NBIS, SWFT, eMASS)
• May serve as alternate COMSEC custodian
• Support physical and industrial security activities as needed

Ideal Candidate

• Associate's degree in Information System Security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or IT
  (or equivalent technical certifications/experience)
• 1-3 years of relevant information systems or security experience
• Active U.S. Security Clearance required (confirmed prior to offer)
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Strong understanding of firewalls, IDS, antivirus, encryption, and system hardening
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, RMF, NISPOM, and 32 CFR Part 117
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision
• Willing to travel up to 25%
• Ability to complete CDSE FSO Curriculum for Possessing Facilities within six months of hire

Preferred Experience

• NIST SP 800-53, ISO27001, DoD 8510.01
• Windows 10/11 troubleshooting
• DISA STIG Viewer & SCAP Compliance Checker
• Working knowledge of cleared system environments
