Overview of the Employment Collaboratives
The Central Mass Employment Collaborative is a consortium of state agencies and human service providers, employers, workforce development organizations, and employment service providers. CMEC works across these groups with the common goal of increasing employment opportunities for individuals across all disabilities. Their efforts focus on broadening the types of employers providing opportunities for the individuals they serve and enhancing access to career-oriented training and resources. Riverside started the Collaborative program in 2009 focusing on the Central MA area to streamline the process of finding and hiring individuals with disabilities. After award-winning success in that region, we were asked to expand the program to many additional parts of the state. We are incredibly proud of this program and the impact it has in the communities we serve. In FY 2025 alone, more than 900 individuals found employment through these services.
Primary responsibilities include assisting the CMEC Sr. Project Coordinator by:
Leading strategic job development and job placement planning activities across the region
Initiating employer contacts at all levels of organizations
Developing job leads in numerous industries at all levels of organizations
Assisting community organizations that participate in the Employment Collaborative by creating job opportunities, job offers and training opportunities.
Implementing best practices for job search and placement, placement strategies, activities and events to increase employment outcomes
Presenting information to Corporations, Employment Associations, State and Local Organizations
