Electro-Optics Assembler

Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. (SBIR) is recruiting an experienced and motivated Electro-Optics Assembler for our manufacturing team.

$25.00/hr - $32.00/hr. DOE

On-Site, M-F

Responsibilities - Electro-Optics Assembler

1. Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly and schematic drawings, and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignment.
2. Routes and laces cables.
3. Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors, and semiconductor circuits on chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other units.
4. Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connects assembly to power supply sources, switch panels, or junction boxes.
5. Attaches hardware and seals assembly.
6. Examines parts for defects such as pinholes or chips.
7. Replaces defective components and wiring.
8. Assembles mechanical, electronic, and optical systems by using drawing and travelers.
9. Repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
10. Aligns and clamps parts together, or positions items in fixtures, jigs, or vise.
11. Reads instructions such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
12. Attaches ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip.
13. Insert cable in plastic connectors.
14. Tests wiring continuity with continuity tester.
15. Marks identifying data on completed harness.
