Location: Remote (Must be licensed in Michigan)

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Virtual Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join our team in Michigan. This remote position requires a valid Michigan Department of Education (MDE) certification and will involve providing clinical social work services to high school students with IEP. This includes social skills individually and in small groups. Caseload size is currently 48 students. This may include opportunities for summer work for approved compensatory time.

As a key member of our team, the LMSW will work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure students' needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Therapy: Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions via telehealth, focusing on mental health issues, trauma, family dynamics, and life transitions.
  • Conduct Assessments: Complete comprehensive assessments, evaluations, and treatment planning with clients to identify their mental health needs, goals, and strengths.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention during crisis situations, including risk assessments and safety planning.
  • Client Advocacy: Work as an advocate for clients to access necessary resources, including community services, housing, employment, and healthcare.
  • Document Care: Maintain accurate and timely case documentation, treatment plans, progress notes, and other records in compliance with ethical standards and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work with multidisciplinary teams, including other social workers, counselors, and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients.
  • Maintain Licensure and Compliance: Stay up-to-date with continuing education requirements, licensure renewal, and comply with state and federal regulations related to telehealth and social work practices.
  • Provide Consultations: Offer professional consultation and advice to family members, caregivers, and other service providers involved in the client's care.
Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university.
  • Licensure: Valid Michigan LMSW license with the required Michigan Department of Education (MDE) certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a school setting preferred.
  • Telehealth Experience: Previous experience providing virtual therapy or telehealth services is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and best practices in social work.
    • Proficient in using telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHR), and other relevant technologies.
  • Commitment to Diversity: Ability to work with a diverse population and an understanding of cultural, socioeconomic, and environmental factors affecting mental health.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or families is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Michigan-specific regulations and resources for social services and mental health.
