Goleta West Sanitary District Job Opportunity

This position is with Goleta West Sanitary District, located in Goleta, CA. The salary is based on qualifications.

The role is full-time and regular, closing on 1/31/2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada); Tijuana.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating District's operations and maintenance projects.
• Developing and implementing operational goals, policies, and procedures for maintenance and operations of the sewer collection system, pump stations, meters, facilities, and vehicles.
• Directing daily field operations, including customer service response, sewer line cleaning and inspections and repairs.
• Managing District wastewater conveyance facilities, including pump stations, collection system and force mains.
• Managing contracts and coordination with outside agencies, vendors, and contractors.
• Establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and staff training programs.
• Supervising, mentoring, training, and evaluating assigned staff; supporting performance management and professional development.
• Assisting with preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the District's annual budget, infrastructure planning, and capital improvement projects.
• Overseeing SCADA system operations and improvements.
• Coordinating with other agencies and the public; responding to public inquiries and resolving service issues.
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety requirements.
• Implementing and managing the District's Health, Safety, and Wellness Program, including safety documentation and training.
• Maintaining records and reports for regulatory compliance, equipment and facility management, and operational tracking.
• Assuming the duties of the General Manager in their absence and supporting emergency preparedness and response planning.

The District observes twelve holidays annually and offers health insurance benefits, including full coverage for employees and up to three eligible dependents. For the current fiscal year, District has elected to continue contributing 100% of the maximum legal contribution amount for Vested Employees with more than five years of service.
