We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. This role involves performing venipuncture and capillary blood collection while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
* Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using approved techniques and universal precautions.
* Verify patient identity and match specimens to requisitions in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policy.
* Label, process, and transport specimens according to laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; follow OSHA and infection control protocols.
* Communicate professionally with patients and staff to reduce anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
* Document all collections accurately in the electronic health record.
Essential Skills
* Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Valid California CPT License.
* BLS certification required.
* High school diploma or GED.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite at the clinic located on the Westside. The role offers opportunities for growth and professional development within a large medical group. A comprehensive training program lasting 3-5 months is provided for entry-level support.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
