Position Summary

Software QA Engineer II – Automation (Onsite, Santa Barbara). Works with Engineering departments to test and analyze application functionality, ensuring that Arthrex business systems meet user requirements and quality standards. Requires strong communication, analytical skills and the ability to automate test cases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support complex release projects including test planning, estimation, scheduling, resource planning, training, and oversight; develop and execute tests, manage defects, report daily/weekly status, and close projects.
  • Perform testing assignments such as integration with other systems, performance testing (if needed), and data migration for large implementation or major release projects.
  • Work with infrastructure and application development teams to establish and maintain test environments.
  • Communicate testing issues to development leads and managers, assist in triage and resolution, advise on design/architectural solutions, and recommend process/application improvements.
  • Represent SQA on application/project teams and attend software development, project planning, and requirement gathering meetings; provide SQA status and meet deadlines for individual or multiple projects.
  • Contribute to SQA metrics such as requirements coverage, test case readiness, execution progress, and defect counts/statistics in the SQA test management tool.
  • Automate test cases using the automated testing framework built in C#; add automated test cases to the nightly run, ensure tests pass daily, and log bugs when necessary.

Knowledge

  • Intermediate testing skills with partial to full knowledge of assigned Arthrex business systems; ability to develop test cases, automated scripts, test plans, and test summary reports.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • 2 years relevant work experience.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and the SQA role within it.
  • Solid understanding of programming languages and technologies including relational databases, SQL, XML/JSON, C#, Python, MongoDB (plus). Experience with Selenium, Appium, Jenkins.
  • Demonstrated ability to document test plans, test cases, and test results.
  • Experience with Jira, Zephyr or other test management systems and Agile practices.
