Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

We are looking for an ambitious Human Resources Generalist in Santa Barbara. This is not a remote position and is full time based in Santa Barbara, California. Candidates must be well versed in California-specific labor law. This position requires a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to evaluation. If you have a passion for HR, are familiar with California labor law, and look to expand your career in the field, this is a great opportunity. Your role as a Generalist will be far from one-dimensional. You'll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, such as coordinating training, helping employee and client benefits and leaves, and onboarding & offboarding. You will use HRIS systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You'll act as a point of contact for employees' and client queries on HR-related topics. Responsibilities

  • Assist in administering compensation and benefit plans.
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Promote HR programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
  • Undertake tasks around performance management.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
  • Maintain employee and client files and records in electronic form.
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with CA labor regulations.

Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a California HR Generalist or Manager.
  • HR training and certifications (PHR, SHRM, etc.) are required.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Paycom, ADP, Paychex, Paylocity) will be a plus.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Desire to work as a team.
  • BS/BA in Business administration or relevant field.
