Job Type: Full-time

Work Location: In person preferred with hybrid or remote options available for qualified candidates

Base Salary: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 hours per week


Qualifications / Experience

  • BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 5-10 years of civil engineering experience
  • Registered PE in the state of CA
  • Experience in land development, grading, civil design, water, sewer, storm drain systems, and water & wastewater projects
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and other engineering design tools
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills, including strong technical writing skills for creating reports, proposals, and project documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for document management and collaboration
  • Proficient organizational skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in construction observation to ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Previous experience with supervision of others and can work in a collaborative manner
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills


Duties & Responsibilities

Individual will be responsible for civil engineering, design and project management, including but not limited to the following:

  • Design and prepare project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for Public Works Infrastructure and Land Development projects
  • Provide engineering services during construction
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
  • Perform complex calculations and use specialized software to ensure accurate project specifications
  • Prepare and present project proposals to clients, including cost estimates and timelines
  • Communicate with clients regarding the status of project scope, schedule, and budget during planning, design, and construction
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, agency staff, and other professionals to ensure project success
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise; ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Supervise and/or coordinate work with other engineers or technicians
  • Maintain consistent high quality of professionalism and engineering design work
