Immediate Supervisor: Chief Financial Officer

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Primary Responsibilities:

Support the Chief Financial Officer in managing the Club's accounting functions ensuring they are performed accurately and efficiently. Support the fiscal close cycles, and financial reporting. Provide oversight in accounting operations including accounts payable and accounts receivable, internal controls, and payroll processing.

Duties:

Accounting & Financial Support

  • Perform routine accounting duties including general ledger entries and oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and modules.
  • Participate in the monthly and fiscal close processes, ensuring all month end transactions have been recorded accurately and follow GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly cash reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with analyzing operating results in terms of costs, budgets, and trends.
  • Participate in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to departmental accounting systems that increase efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining controls.
  • Support external audits.
  • Prepare monthly sales tax reporting and payments.
  • Assist with oversight of cash management.
Internal Control & Reporting
  • Ensure proper accounting classifications and cost center assignments.
  • Implement and maintain good internal controls across the organization.
  • Ensure proper tax treatment for sales, purchases and payroll related areas.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure policy compliance.
  • Serve as liaison with auditors, banking and regulatory bodies.
Additional Duties
  • Collaborate with other leaders and professionals to identify trends and alternative methods for addressing challenges in the hospitality sector.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the accounting team including training.
  • Document and maintain accounting processes and procedures.
Committee & Management Involvement
  • Provide support to the Chief Financial Officer for committee meetings, financial reporting and other financial matters as requested.
  • Attend finance committee meetings and staff meetings when requested by Chief Financial Officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or General Manager.
Candidate Profile:

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in general accounting role with similar level of responsibilities including oversight and contribution in various accounting functions, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Experience in hospitality or related industry a plus.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong systems experience particularly in Excel, Microsoft products and accounting software.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
  • Proven leadership ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team.
  • Excellent internal/external communication skills to present financial information clearly.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English, be cooperative, work as a team member, problem solve, make decisions and be reasonable, have good relationships with management, members and guests.
  • Answering phones, typing, filing, sitting for up to 8 hours per day, standing, lifting up to 20lbs, repetitive motion required including computer entry.

Salary Description

$105k-$125k DOE
