Westmont CollegeAssociate Director of Campus LifeCampus Life OfficePosition SummaryResponsible for advising the Westmont Activities Council and campus wide student activities, managing and supporting campus clubs, contributing to student leadership development, as well as planning and implementation of the first-year experience including new student orientation.Qualifications Requires a Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Counseling or a related field and 3-5 years of experience within higher education. Candidates should possess demonstrated experience in implementing programs/initiatives and knowledge of “best practices”; a track record of effective collaboration with faculty, staff and students; excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication abilities as well as strong interpersonal skills. Candidates should have prior experience working with New Student Orientation programs. Individual must be detail-oriented and have an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Westmont seeks candidates with a strong and demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith, and a desire to grow both personally and professionally. Candidates will embrace the college's mission as a high quality Christian Liberal Arts College.Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and supervise the Westmont Activities Council (WAC) overseeing campus wide student activities.
  • Direct the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation and the First-Year Adventure-day.
  • Coordinate recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of the student staff on the Orientation Committee and Orientation Team
  • Provide leadership and oversight to campus clubs and the student clubs council
  • Assist the Dean of Students in the development and implementation of Campus Life vision, annual objectives, and long-term departmental goals.
  • Assist with event and program planning, e.g. Leadership Lunches, Student Leader Kickoff, Training and Retreat, Year-End Celebration, and other ICP and CL programs.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Serve on campus committees as appropriate.
  • Assist with Student Life large scale events such as the annual Christmas dinner
  • Arrange to attend evening programs and gatherings of student leaders and schedule your day to provide an “after 5 presence”. This commitment varies from week to week.
