Position Overview

We seek a driven and experienced seller who excels in crafting partnerships that reflect our club's values, match our ambitions, and resonate with our passionate fan base. Under the direction of the Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships, the Director of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for generating revenue through innovative and high-value partnerships, leading up-sell opportunities for key accounts, and enhancing the Wave FC brand. This role involves identifying, negotiating, and cultivating relationships with assigned partners to create mutually beneficial opportunities that drive business results and strengthen partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience and success in partnership sales, a strong understanding of the sports business landscape, and a passion for the growth of women's sports.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maximize revenue through strategic marketing solutions and innovative sales concepts focused on multi-year, six-figure, and above opportunities.
  • Develop new strategic partnerships through proactive outreach, discovery, sales, meetings, presentations, negotiations, and closing.
  • Identify and pursue prospective partners by researching business trends, understanding category analysis, and industry best practices.
  • Maximize outreach activities and time with prospects.
  • Support high-performing team members with mentorship, coaching, and guidance.
  • Cultivate and maintain a network of prospective partners.
  • Provide strategic advice to partners to maximize relationship effectiveness, identify up-sell opportunities, and maximize renewals.
  • Negotiate deal terms collaboratively with senior leadership.
  • Drive the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring revenue targets are met or exceeded.
  • Assist in developing new revenue streams and assets.
  • Collaborate across teams for clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Work with the Partnership Marketing/Activation team to ensure fulfillment of benefits.
  • Monitor accounts receivable with Finance.
  • Maintain CRM records and report pipeline status regularly.
  • Represent Wave FC at events and host clients.
  • Perform game/event duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
  • 7+ years in partnership sales, business development, or related roles.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and revenue-driving skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and ambition.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with value tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
Work conditions include working gamedays, weekends, holidays, and minimal travel for events, meetings, and research. This role offers a base salary plus commission, with a range of $115K - $125K.
