Principal Embedded Software Engineer – Onsite in California – $180K–$240K + equity + benefits

We're working with a stealth-mode space company building next-generation Earth observation technology with unparalleled imaging capabilities. Their mission? To make global insight and intelligence radically more accessible.

They're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of embedded flight software for mission-critical satellite systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape architecture, build robust systems in Rust/C++, and drive integration across complex flight and ground software environments.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead full-lifecycle embedded development for next-gen spacecraft
• Architect, test, and scale high-reliability flight software
• Work closely with cross-functional and ground systems teams
• Drive technical mentorship, coding standards, and system-level integration

What they're looking for:

• 12+ years' embedded experience with modern C++ and/or Rust
• Strong background in ARM/SoC architecture and performance optimization
• Experience in Linux/RTOS or bare-metal environments
• Background in aerospace, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or mission-critical systems
• Must be a US Citizen or equivalent (due to export control regulations)
