Salary and Location

$115,000.00/yr. - $130,000.00/yr. DOE

On-site in Santa Barbara, CA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Purchase materials required for production, including raw materials, machined parts, electronic components, tools, and supplies.
2. Develop relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and coordinate logistics.
3. Initiate RFQs and onboard capable suppliers.
4. Analyze part usage and sales forecasts to set up appropriate planning policies in the company's MRP system.
5. Assist the Purchasing team with technical planning questions.
6. Manage supply chain projects with limited supervision.
7. Represent the Materials team in ECO meetings.
8. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including development and process/cost improvements.
9. Identify and resolve problems promptly; gather and analyze information effectively.
10. Participate in continuous improvement projects within the Materials group.
11. Work independently and full-time onsite.

Qualifications

• Advanced MRP knowledge required.
• APICS CPIM certification preferred.
• Proven experience managing complex supply chains.
• Strong analytical skills for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., Defense, Aerospace) preferred.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Production, Operations Management, or equivalent; 5+ years Buyer/Planner experience.

Additional Requirements

Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, or granted asylum due to US Export Control Regulations. Must pass background, reference, ITAR/EAR checks, and a drug screen.
