Job Description
The NBCUniversal Team is looking for a Director of Business Strategy. The Director of Business Strategy will serve as a strategic and innovative leader, working directly with executives across the Studio Operations group (production services, post-production, lighting & grip, property, wardrobe/costume, transportation, finance, and IT). You will help develop annual and long-range plans. You will develop and manage a portfolio of projects to build both short and long-term financial value for the Studio. You will utilize reporting and analytics, conduct market research, review internal business analysis, and implement continuous improvement plans. You will identify opportunities to reduce cost, raise operating cash flow margins, and optimize the client experience across the West Coast Studio Operations group.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate ongoing strategic planning efforts in support of long-range planning and annual budgeting while partnering with finance to assess related financial implications, including development of executive presentations
- Consult with operators at the line and leadership level to identify and propose business development opportunities
- Perform ongoing market analysis to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and other forces shaping the entertainment/media business
- Deliver regular reports for executive leadership including monthly operational reviews, bi-weekly organizational accomplishments and project status reports
- Administer Process Improvement Program for Studio Ops; measure gaps between actual and desired levels of process capability, employee performance, service levels, and other key business outcomes
- Develop an analytical culture using historical and current operational data to drive predictive analytics for the Studio
- Build PowerPoint presentations that communicate ideas, analyses and recommendations through the use of charts, graphs, and other illustrative methods

What You Must Have- 7+ years of experience in a business environment, solving complex operational problems
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, organizational management, industrial engineering, quality, or related field
- 5+ years of experience managing projects (traditional and/or agile), including project planning, execution and status reporting
What Would Make You a Stand-out- Additional education/certification in: Quality Systems, Industrial Engineering, and/or Project Management
- Experience successfully leading simultaneous, cross-divisional change management initiatives, preferably using Lean Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of Studio departments, workflows, functions, and technologies
- Experience working with information technology systems, specifically databases and web-based apps
- Skilled in statistical process control (SPC) and analysis
- Exceptional organization, communication, written, and presentation skills
- Solid skills developing PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate complex ideas, analyses and recommendations using graphs, charts, and other illustrative methods
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and translate business research (industry analysis, competitive benchmarking, voice of customer)
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $140,000 - $170,000 (bonus eligible and long-term incentive eligible).
