THE NEED

These positions are on call, as needed, to fill in for employee day-to-day absences, and to cover vacancies or limited term assignments. Typical shifts are 8 hours a day between the hours of:
6:30 am - 3:00 pm with a 30 minute unpaid break

HEALTH & WELFARE
New Hires employed full time (40 hours/week) on or after 02/14/2024, plan choices include:

  • Anthem Blue Cross CDHP PPO 90 with a district contribution of $905 towards employee's health savings account (HSA), district fully funds premium cost
  • Kaiser Permanente CDHP HMO $1,600 with a district contribution of $1,449 towards employee's health savings account (HSA), district fully funds premium cost
  • Anthem Blue Cross Indemnity IV PPO with a district paid contribution of $16,500 towards the cost of the premium for the plan selected
  • Kaiser Permanente HMO 30, with a district paid contribution of $16,500 towards the cost of the premium for the plan selected
  • Cash-in-Lieu option: Full-time employees (40 hours per week) who can prove they are covered by group medical coverage, may opt out of benefits to participate in Cash in Lieu at any time of the year ($5,000 per year, paid out in increments of $500 per month (September - June)

Notes:
  • All plans also include dental and vision
  • District contribution prorated for those employees who work less than full-time
    • 20.00-29.99 hours per week, district will pay 50% of the employer contribution
    • 30.00-39.99 hours per week, district will pay 75% of the employer contribution

HOLIDAYS

Approximately 14 paid holidays per year.

VACATION

Vacation is earned based on assigned hours. (For example: a new employee working 8 hours/day, 12-months per year will earn one vacation day per month, up to a total of twelve (12) days of vacation per
year. Employees who work less than 12-months per year or less than 8 hours/day shall be entitled to a prorated share of vacation benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.) Vacation earned increases with years of service with the district.

SICK LEAVE

The district provides for 1 day of illness leave per month worked, with unlimited accumulation for unused days.

RETIREMENT

Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) and Social Security
