**Aircraft Cleaner/Detailer**

JetWorx Line Service Van Nuys, California Minimum Experience **Entry-level** The Aircraft Cleaner/Detailer is a customer service position that is responsible for the cleaning, detailing and general servicing of customer aircraft. In addition, is a support position to other departments: Line Service, Aircraft Maintenance and Facilities.

Aircraft Cleaner/Detailers require the following: Attention to detail, good decision-making skills, the ability to follow company procedures, flexibility in a dynamic working environment, as well as possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Your safety is important to us. This position requires working with cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials. As such, proper procedures must be followed. The airport area is a high noise environment so use of proper protective equipment is required. Operating vehicles in close proximity of people, buildings and other aircraft requires extreme caution. Procedures must be followed for your personal safety as well as the safety of others and protection of company and customer property.

Essential Duties

- Clean and/or detail aircraft exterior and interior

- Polishing of brightwork

- Performing carpet extractions

- Service aircraft lavatory and potable water service

- Load/unload baggage

- Assist pilots with aircraft Pre and Post flight services

- Operate ground support equipment

- Assist other departments as required including facility cleaning and other tasks as assigned

- Provide basic security to people and property

- Direct people, drivers and flight crews on ramp area

- Other duties and tasks as required

Requirements

- Must have and maintain a valid Drivers License (restricted licenses are not valid for employment at JetWorx)

- Pass FAA Drug and Alcohol testing, background checks and submit to random testing when required

- Complete NATA Safety First, JetWorx and other job related training

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, direct interface, over telephone and in writing

- Ability to make decisions with multiple objectives and implement in a safe, efficient manner

- Follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others

- Must be available to work flexible hours including overtime when required

- Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to: facility cleaning, vehicle washing, aircraft cleaning and vacuuming

- Ability to work without direct management supervision

- Must be comfortable with working outdoors, day, night and in all weather conditions

- Previous detailing experience

Physical Requirements

- Stepping up/down on ladders, tugs and fuel trucks

- Comfortable with heights

- Lifting baggage from ground level to waist and overhead while loading aircraft, up to 75 pounds

- Bending and stooping to pick up tow bars and other equipment, up to 75 pounds

- Vision should be 20/20 or corrected 20/20

- Bending below wings to chock aircraft

- Standing and walking for extended periods of time, running when required

- Good hand-eye coordination with good peripheral vision
