The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a First (1st) Shift Material Handler in our Nusil site. This role will be a full-time position based in Carpinteria, California. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a very dynamic team in a great environment. NuSil is involved in healthcare, aerospace and biotech. There is an opportunity to help change and save lives with the work that is done on a daily basis. The team

Avantor's warehouse center is part of our Distribution and Logistics team. This team supports the innovation and growth objectives of major laboratories across the globe by helping with the integration of new technology solutions into their lab processes and operations.

What we're looking for

* Education: High school or GED is required.

* Experience: Work experience of at least 6 months in distribution.

* Certification(s): None required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Some forklift experience.

* Inventory experience, as well as shipping or receiving.

* Order filling.

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Quickly execute required tasks relating to receiving, shipping and handling.
  • Utilize material handling knowledge in storage, inventory and preparation of silicone products and raw materials.
  • Transfer or issue requested materials to appropriate areas in the warehouse and/or operator stations as needed by your internal customers.
  • Maintain good security habits at dock doors.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed, along with operating equipment such as forklifts on an as needed basis.
  • Ensure accuracy of all receiving and shipping activities.
  • Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Enter data into systems.
  • Assist in resolving and discrepancies.
  • Direct and oversee the pallet control and exchange program.
  • Participate in cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$40,000.00 - $66,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
